Bubs doesn’t like the taste of my previously frozen milk, will this help?
generally the reason that bubs doesn’t like the taste of previously frozen milk is due to a naturally occurring enzyme called lipase. Freeze-drying won’t reduce the lipase in the milk, but because we remove the water from the milk, the enzyme often ends up milder.
don’t worry, if bubs still doesn’t like the taste of the milk, your hard work hasn’t gone to waste as you can add all the nutritional benefits of the breastmilk into their food!

How long does my LactiSnack keep?
freeze-dried foods have a shelf-life of 20+ years. Now, we wouldn’t recommend keeping your LactiSnack around that long, so we’ve put a best before date 3 years after the initial freeze-drying date on your packets. But that’s just a suggestion!

Are the nutrients preserved after freeze-drying?
the freeze-drying process maintains nearly all of the nutritional value of fresh foods, the same is true of your breastmilk. Because the process involves super low temperatures and pressure, it doesn’t damage any of the nutritional value of the milk, so yes, the nutrients of breastmilk are preserved through this process

How much milk can you freeze at a time?
each batch runs with up to 100oz or roughly 6.5lbs of milk
we only put one mama’s breastmilk in our machine at a time, so there’s no cross-contamination

I don’t know how much milk I have...
Tip 1: place your stash in a grocery bag and weigh on your bathroom scale. Divide the number by 6.5lbs and multiply by 100oz
[example: 20lbs of breastmilk / 6.5lbs x 100oz = 307oz]Tip 2: 100oz of frozen breastmilk will comfortably fit into two large ziplock freezer bags; if you can easily zip the bag you’re in the clear

My milk is more than 6 months old, can you still make it into LactiSnack?
absolutely mama!! Don’t waste that liquid gold. The CDC actually says that breastmilk is still ‘acceptable’ up to 12 months in the freezer, the 6 month mark is just best. So send us your gold and we will convert it to a shelf-stable powder and elongate that milk life
