Using Your milk
Rehydrated breastmilk (making bubs a bottle)
Add pre-warmed distilled water to a clean bottle in the measurements provided, then add your powdered milk, swirl (check the temperature of course) and let bubs enjoy!
Depending on the fat content of the milk, it may take a bit longer for the fats to dissolve. Gently heat the bottle under warm running water and continue swirling.
Powdered breastmilk (incorporating into solid food)
Your powdered breastmilk can be used for a nutritional boost once bubs is weaning off the bottle/breast! Easily add it to purees and yogurts as bubs is exploring solid foods. Simply sprinkle a little on your kids favourite foods and mix in to have them continue benefitting from all the nutritiousness of your breastmilk.
Remember:
once the milk has been rehydrated, use within 2 hours of preparation; milk can spoil if left at room temperature for long periods of time.
if you don’t use it right away after rehydrating, make sure to refrigerate immediately and use with 24 hours.
do not freeze rehydrated milk.
throw out any milk left in the bottle after feeding. The combination of your baby’s saliva and the milk can cause bacteria to grow, so be sure to clean and sanitize the bottle before the next feeding.
store sealed pouches in a cool, dry place.
once a pouch has been opened, make sure the zipper is sealed and use within 3 days.
